These concert programmes range from beautiful Schubert lieder to “clear, concise, direct and intriguing” Margaret Sutherland Australian art song settings of poems by South Australian pastoral lyric poet John Shaw Neilson.

Recital 1: Friday 12 December at 6pm

Venue: Andrew Mitterdorfer Residence, 3 Garden Square, Gordon

 

At the Friday concert, our guest violinist, Matt Bruce, will contribute a freewheeling virtuosic solo violin piece by Belgian violinist and composer Eugène Ysaÿe (click here for a taste), and a Janáček violin and piano sonata, rooted in Czech folk music but overshadowed by the European turbulence of 1914 (click here for a taste).​
